eReader: EPUB, PDF Book Reader

eReader opens your own EPUB and PDF books and gets out of the way. Set the page up the way your eyes like it, keep the lines that matter, and let the app read aloud when your hands are busy. No account, no store, no format lock-in.

READ EPUB AND PDF

• Opens EPUB 2, EPUB 3 and PDF files from Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, Mail or Safari
• PDFs reflow like ebooks, so your font, size and theme apply to them too
• Page View shows a PDF's original layout for scans, tables and diagrams
• Fast search across the whole book, table of contents and jump to page

MAKE EVERY PAGE YOURS

• 12 reading templates: Paperback, Night Owl, Focus, Flow, Easy Read, Large Print, Compact and more
• 8 page themes, from Sepia and Paper to true-black Night
• Any installed font, with full control of size, line, letter and paragraph spacing

READING AIDS THAT KEEP YOUR PLACE

• Paragraph Focus dims everything except the paragraph you are reading
• Color Flow tints each line so its end matches the start of the next
• Bold Word Starts guides your eye along the line for faster reading
• Speed Reader shows one word at a time, at the pace you choose

LISTEN TO ANY BOOK

• Text to speech turns an EPUB or PDF into an audiobook
• Choose the voice, language and speed, and start from any sentence
• Keeps reading with the screen off; the text follows the voice

• Highlight in five colours or underline, and add notes
• Bookmark pages and jump back in one tap
• Share a favourite line as a quote card, ready for Messages or Instagram Stories

• Time left in the chapter and the book, at your own reading speed

FREE AND PREMIUM

eReader is free to download and read with. The free version shows ads between reading sessions. Premium removes ads and unlocks unlimited highlights and bookmarks, every template, theme and reading aid, text to speech, iCloud sync and AI summaries. Premium is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, and the subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.

eReader opens DRM-free EPUB and PDF files. It does not open books protected by DRM, such as most books bought from Kindle or Apple Books, and it does not play recorded audiobook files.
